Regional Affordability Vice President - Telecommute within Centr
The Regional Affordability VP is responsible for working in a highly matrixed environment, to develop and execute cross-functional strategies and tactics which result in incremental, measurable medical cost savings for the region and at the market level (which can include individual practices/groups/IDS' relationships).
Savings would be achieved through a variety of methods, including leveraging and collaborating with Product, Clinical, Network, Operations, Sales and other enterprise resources to maximize savings.
Primary Responsibilities: Attract, mentor and retain a team of project managers and other talent needed to achieve goals Achieve or exceed medical cost initiatives (HCAI) or other medical cost savings targets as may be established by UHC on behalf of the businesses Work closely with UHC Finance & HCE (for the applicable line of business) to ensure rigorous, reliable processes for validation, measurement and forecasting of results Rigorous management of national/regional/local medical cost savings projects including development and maintenance of pipeline ideas/projects to achieve goals Ensure best practice sharing across regions and lines of business as applicable Act as trusted strategic partner with regional and market leadership Maintain clear lines of communication with all matrix partners to ensure efficient and effective implementation of national, regional and local priorities, including regular reporting and explanation of affordability results at a regional and market level In partnership with Value Creation team and other UHC and Optum stakeholders, ensure success of key performance-based contracted providers through identification and coordination of viable initiatives and programs If you are located in Central or Pacific time zone, you will have the flexibility to telecommute* as you take on some tough challenges. Challenge yourself, your peers and our industry by shaping what health care looks like and doing your life's best work.(sm) Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree 7+ years of healthcare experience including Managed Care experience, Health care administration and or healthcare consulting experience 7+ years of working experience within healthcare operations, clinical services, network, products and benefits Strong analytic, project management and problem solving skills; ability to quickly aggregate and analyze information and draw conclusions Must be located in Central or Pacific Time Zone Preferred Qualifications: MBA, MHA, or MPH Solid understanding of UHC operations, clinical services, network, products and benefits Experience with healthcare information systems Experience consulting experience between business and technology Customer-focused; proven ability to handle complex situations, resolve conflicts and issues effectively. Sensitive to how people and the organization function Ability to translate strategic objectives into action plans and lead/motivate teams to execute plans effectively; flexibility to adapt and change direction as needed Strong written and verbal communication skills capable of effectively presenting ideas and tactics at executive and non-executive levels, in internal and external settings Strong executive leadership presence, with ability to manage prioritization of programs and process across segment leadership, and effectively communicate strategy to attain goals Knowledgeable Medicare products Careers with UnitedHealthcare.
